We march on with technology, but are we running towards doom?

We appear to be moving towards a poor state where we dehumanise
the things we love, such as games, like as football, and tennis for
example (technology removing the need for humans, lines men soon to be
replaced by tech). The new more intellegent systems are moving
into all our lives, and Schneier
has stated:
Right now, we are living through the last
attempts at making those systems work,
with a perhaps naive hope
and a newfound belief in AI and the data science that fuels it.
Might we see the rise of the 21st century luddites in an attempt to stop
the march, or maybe we will continue to sleepwalk right into it.

Either way there will be major issues in the near future as AI uses more LLMs and becomes more
deceptive:

For what its worth! Were HP sold a pup?

The biggest sale of a tech co in the UK; Autonomy was sold to Hewlett-Packard (HP) for
$11 billion in 2011.
The value of Autonomy was writing down by $8.8 billion within a year
by HP.
This led to a major court room battle and an extradition of its owner.
I evaluated Autonomy, around 5 years prior to the sale, for a large
corporation considering investing, at the time I failed to find anything of real
substance, or value in methods used by the organisation.

BIG private data slurping: Microsoft drooling at the potential!

Recall and Copilot soon to be integrated within the Windows 11 os,
this will provide the giant with unlimited private data access like never
before.
Imagine you have your files unlocked and maybe viewing your
private data and snap they have a screenshot (could be anything from your
last Will or your usernames/passwords). But wait, Microsoft say you
can turn it off. Turn it off and at next update its back on!!!!
Of course just by mistake, just like these companies have done so before.
